The Mandala Workshop with Danita was a success! Our afternoon together exceeded my expectations....the 6 of us (including one very cute baby boy) enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing afternoon learning new techniques and creating our own sacred circles. Danita is so passionate about her art and it definitely rubbed off on us. Mmm, mandalas indeed! I love ART! In the words of Justine Clarke....
"I have the best time that I’ve ever found Painting A Picture. Mixing the colours and slushing them round Painting A Picture. When my brush fills up that big paper sheet I couldn’t care less about some things like sleep. When someone shouts dinner, well, who wants to eat? I’m Painting A Picture." It has been years since I have picked up a pencil or paint brush, I only started again last year and my earlier blog posts document this beginning. I started nice and slowly with colouring in. My creative self is so very pleased that I have unlocked this sleepy part of me again and that I am finding snippets of time, however tiny, to nurture it. Is there something that you used to enjoy doing before children that you might like to look into experiencing again? xx Do you ever wake up with a song in your head? I woke up with this one yesterday, do you know it? Farewell Summer 2012/2013, you've been grand! Well, officially it's farewell but it's still a warm 34 degrees in my town at this very minute, hardly a cool change. Below are a couple of photographs of the still waters at one of my local beaches at sunset last week. So beautiful. I am so lucky to live here near the sea.
And now March and Autumn is upon us. I look forward to a bit more rain for my very dry, little garden. This photo below is from Autumn 2011 and NOT taken near my home, haha. This is taken in the Adelaide Hills, it is truly spectacular there in Autumn. |
