I can safely say that 2018 was more about family, a new job and foster kittens as opposed to art. Nevertheless, I recently looked back at my photos from last year and remembered that I did create a few pieces. I will let you decide what is decent and what is not so much, hehe. It is all self expression anyhow and that is a good thing. Thanks for reading. Grounded, Acrylic on Canvas #Metoo, Acrylic Ink on Paper Wallpaper, Acrylic on Canvas Poppies, Acrylic Ink on Paper Acrylic Ink Zentangle Patience, Acrylic on Canvas. Second prize in the Kadina Show 2018 Gladstone Art Exhibition with my two entries, Oct 2018 Paint and Plonk event, Sevenhill SA with Meg Mader Oct 2018 PS. My first foster cat Jewels says 'Fair effort. I didn't know you painted. What's over there?" 😉😸
A nice earthy pallette for a change, just experimenting with colours and shapes. 2017 was a year of experimenting in my art, especially in regard to abstract pieces.
What do I want to keep in a painting? What do I want to remove or cover? What needs to be added? What do I want to stand out? When do I stop? Who knows. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes I don't. :-) If you are visiting the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, South Australia this Summer, come on over and check out my art at Noelene's Book Cafe in Wallaroo.
Great coffee, friendly service, books and art...sounds good to me I started working on a bright pink Dahlia today. 🌺 I surprised myself at how relaxed I was while painting this afternoon...I think flowers and acrylic ink are a winner for me. (Thank you Meg Mader from The Journey Studio, Clare Valley!) This chilled out girl may have helped too.
Completed & trimmed to fit in a frame I already had.
Acrylic ink with fine archival ink pen. Will pop the prints into my store soon, I think this one will make a lovely greeting card. 😊🌻 Introducing acrylic inks... thanks to the expertise and joyful teaching of Meg Mader of The Journey Studio, Clare Valley. I needed something cheerful to paint after a very sad week losing my beautiful cat Sammie. The sunflowers were a good choice 🌻🌿 If you need some Ladybug luck then Wallaroo at sunset is definitely the place to visit!
Last night at Office Beach I saw about twenty on the rocks. I assumed they were having a Saturday night get together and I accidently crashed their party but tonight we literally saw HUNDREDS. I told the gentle little creatures that they sure have chosen a nice place to live...gotta love a sea view. |
