I have been working part time for the last 6 weeks in community outreach. It is a pretty good fit for me and ticks alot of boxes. One box the work doesn't tick, however, is creativity :-) Happily, I've needed to tweak my lifestyle a little to ensure that my needs for creativity and self expression are met. It has definitely been a process of adjustment, though I feel like I am now smoothing out the creases, including the addition of early nights :-)
Interestingly enough, the desire to create is amping up, not slowing down, whether it be drawing or photography or music or something else, despite potentially having less time or energy for it around family and work commitments. Perhaps it is partly the desire to create and also the desire for quiet time? :-) It certainly feels like self care to me. Regardless, this is my latest piece, I really like it!

This card made me feel that I could potentially get some greeting cards printed in the future to sell.
What do you think? I really like it. A couple of tweaks in design but I love the whimsical forest feel. Do you buy greeting cards for friends and family? Is there anything in particular you would like to see in a greeting card range? Jen played me this audio file today from over a year ago, recording on her phone for timing purposes. There is some throat clearing and mistakes but I still think our voices blend beautifully. See what you think. (The arrangement is by duo 'Renee and Jeremy', they do some awesome, cruisy covers)
Ok, here's the original. Kinda cute I thought for a little evening doodle - it's got a Spring feel to it....nearly there. And here it is using my kid's textas :-) I also stuck it onto an apple green greeting card. I really like the green fern. I might try again with colour, see what I can come up with.
I whipped up a couple more sun & surf cards on the weekend too. I really love these ones...perhaps because I'm kind of over Winter at the moment :-) A quick experiment to see what a background of swirls would look like.... Another work in progress.... I really like this one, the contrast looks good!
